Monday Musings of Pastor Ron - October 26, 2026

Friends,

The last three Sundays have reminded me how blessed we are at Houston Trinity. From the youth who led us in Worship for our Anniversary celebration to our invigorating opening praise this week provided by the band. Our stewardship messages this month have also reinforced our blessing. As Paul wrote the Thessalonians "you are chosen" he also told them their "hearts are tested". We are blessed because God has chosen to love us, to care for us, to walk with us and talk with us and fill our hearts so that our tests are not ones we face alone but instead with God and each other.

We are blessed by what the future is bringing to Houston Trinity: new members, new visions, new witness, a new desire to move through the doors and into our community. As we prepare for All Saints Sunday this week, we should remember that we are also blessed by those who have gone on before us. Those saints that shared their love, their caring with their family, with the church and with the world.

Sometimes I get caught up in everything going around me and miss our blessing. I become too worried about the plans for Worship this week, or the budget, or annual meetings and I forget that God blessed us so that we would go into the world and bless others. But when those times happen God reminds me. Maybe it is an anniversary celebration or a song sung or a prayer prayed. This week is was very visual. I received a notice Saturday morning that someone was in the Narthex of the Church. The notice sends we a photo from the cameras. Since I didn't expect anyone to be at the Church early on Saturday, I opened the security app to look at the photo. This is what I saw.

We are truly blessed, Houston Trinity. In case we forget just put this image on your phone. God is watching over us, guiding us, leading us into the world to bless others.

God bless you. See you Sunday
