Monday Musings of Pastor Ron - October 12, 2026

Friends,

Sunday was wonderful. Our Worship experience was powerful. One of our visitors told me that it was exciting to see how alive the church was. I want to say a special thank you to all of our Youth for the service that you planned and led. We are blessed to have you as part of our church family. Thank you also to Blessings and the rest of her team for helping the Youth plan the service.

We had a great time Sunday thinking back over the 28 years that Houston Trinity has been a church family. The images and stories were a great reminder of where we came from and where we have been. My friends, those 28 years are done. What will we do now? Paul reminds us that we need to forget what is behind and strain toward what is ahead. That doesn't mean that what has been is not important. It just means that what is to come is even more important. Just as we arise each morning to start a new day, we arose this morning to start the next chapter of Houston Trinity. And that chapter is starting with growing excitement: Four baptisms yesterday. Five professions of faith yesterday. Ten new members yesterday. Over 70 people in Worship yesterday.

Today we begin the next chapter of Houston Trinity. Where that path may lead is a mystery. But one thing we can be assured of is that as long as we press on toward the prize of the call of God in Jesus, we will not be taking this path alone. The time has arrived for us to use all of the "newness" of yesterday (new baptisms, new professions, new members) to start a "new" life in this community, this city, in the world as we walk through our doors and share the Good News of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

God bless you. See you Sunday
