Monday Musings of Pastor Ron - August 17, 2026

Friends,

These last two weeks have been wearisome. I have to admit after yesterday afternoon I was worn out. Tired. And I know I am not the only one. Celebrations of Life, Funeral Services, Revival Services for the last three weeks. My incessance that the band play additional hymns beyond their normal music. My changing of the Worship order. And that is just at church.

School started again this week. New routines. Homework. Getting up early. Going to bed late. Extra-curricular activities. Increased traffic. No wonder we feel exhausted. No wonder we feel drained. Sometime life just takes all of it out of us.

Those are the times; especially the times, when we need to hear Jesus say to us "Come to me, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). Through our faith in Jesus. In our relationship with God, we are offered rest. Not just a physical rest but a relief from the anxieties that weigh on us. A respite from the burdens that the world places upon us. A comfort from the grief that we experience through the trials in our lives.

We need to remember always that the weariness, the anxieties, the burdens of our lives do not have to be borne by ourselves alone. Jesus promises to bear them with us. Have faith in your Savior and he will bring you rest. That is his promise.

God bless you. See you Sunday
