Monday Musings by Pastor Ron - May 18, 2026

Friends,

If you were in Worship this past Sunday or were with us on-line you will recall that I had a new young boy join me for the Children's message. His name is Joshua. I would like to share with you the text his mother sent me after the service.

"Joshua cannot speak, but if he could, he might say something like this:

"Thank you Pastor Ron and HTUMC for giving me a safe place to learn about God. Thank you for not seeing me as less because of my differences, but as a unique child of God. I may not understand everything being preached, but I experienced God's love today through the genuine acceptance by the congregation this morning."

Reading that text yesterday afternoon filled my heart with joy and my eyes with tears. It was a confirmation of the message we heard yesterday. Confirmation that Jesus' prayer for us is always answered. Confirmation that we are protected within the loving arms of our fellow believers no matter what our differences. Confirmation that we are all God's, and we all belong to Jesus. Confirmation that we are all called to be one. Confirmation that we are listening to the whisper of the Spirit and working in this world to continue Jesus' mission and ministry.

Houston Trinity, thank you for your loving kindness, your warmth, your welcoming attitude and your understanding that we are all children of God no matter where we come from, what we do, no matter any of the differences that make us each unique.

God bless you. See you Sunday
