Monday Musings by Pastor Ron - April 6, 2026

Friends,
It is Easter Monday. Easter day is over. The wonderful music has stopped. The beautiful pastel colors of Easter have been replaced the colors of school and the workplace. The loud praises have been replaced with the cries of the world as it continues to struggle with wars and famine and a myriad of other ongoing troubles.
Easter Sunday is over. We watched as the earth quaked and the stone was rolled away to expose an empty tomb. We have stood at the empty tomb with the Mary's, Peter and the beloved disciple. We heard the young man, the two men in white and the angel all tell us Jesus wasn't there. We listened as Jesus talked to the Mary's. We were there as they saw the risen Lord.
Easter is over. Now What?
We have two choices this day. We can reflect on the beauty of Easter Sunday but remain lost and struggling with all of the things going on in the world. We can let all of our struggles; all of the events of life get in the way of seeing the gift that we were given on Easter morning. We can continue to live life like we were living it on Thursday, and Friday. OR
We can see what we have missed. We can recognize the gift of new life that we have been given through the resurrection of our Savior. We can look at each day with a new eye. We can look at each day with a new heart. We can look at each day through the love, grace and mercy that were poured upon each of us by our God.
It sounds simple, doesn't it? Turn our first thoughts to our new life. Don't let the happenings of the world interfere with our living this life we have been promised. Living the Easter promise every day. It sounds simple, but in reality, it isn't, is it? We want to see it. We want to touch it. We want to hold it. But resurrection isn't always easy to see, or touch: just ask Thomas. But it is real. Even when we can't touch it. Even when we miss it.
Join us during this Eastertide Season as we explore living as resurrected people every day of our lives. Join us as we embrace this new, abundant and empowering life we have been given through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. (1 Peter 1:3) Living this new life will not eliminate our struggles. It will not immediately solve all of the problems that persist in this world. Yet it will allow us to walk with others. It will allow us to walk with Jesus. It will allow us to impact this world in the ways that Jesus calls us to impact it. We are a new life. Every day of our lives.
God bless you. See you Sunday
